The Art of Planetary Science is in full swing at @uarizonalpl.bsky.social Come visit this weekend!

It's time to call it. AI is built on a house of cards of intellectual property violations starting with Facebook which is starting to look a lot like a crime scene as held back discovery documents begin to be compelled and unsealed in court. /1

I have been so excited since I found out this would be announced today! RIP any ability for me to concentrate: www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2...

Same view, from MRO/HiRISE 700 km/435 miles away, in space. An awful lot of talented engineers and scientists made this happen. www.uahirise.org/ESP_068281_9...

2D map tiles, like those used in Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, can now be displayed as a WGS84 (or other) ellipsoid in 3d tiles renderer! It works with the same globe controls and other 3d tiles navigation utilities 🌎 Demo in thread 👇 1/2 #threejs #webgl #gis #3dtiles

bruh 2% is a higher chance than the headless horseman mount dropping in World of Warcraft

Scientists are preparing to launch a drone to Saturn’s largest moon. Story by @bowlerhatscience.org eos.org/features/a-d...

Happy to announce we have joined BlueSky and look forward to sharing information about the amazing discoveries we make at CSS. Stick around for some neat stuff! #astronomy #asteroids #planetarydefense

Want to hear an in-depth discussion of how my new research on the kiss between Pluto and Charon affects the rest of the solar system? I had a great time chatting with @planetarysociety.bsky.social for the latest episode of Planetary Radio: www.planetary.org/planetary-ra...

Asteroid and meteorite folks: has anyone detected ribose or other simple sugars on Bennu (either from samples or remote sensing)? I know the results that came out last week found a *ton* of organic nitrogen-bearing compounds, but I haven't seen anything about carbohydrates yet.

Impact risk for asteroid 2024 YR4 has ticked up to 1.7%. It may be 2028 before it can be removed. This is not unusual. ESA has 2015 NEOs on its risk list. NASA calculates 41,849 "virtual" impact events. Impacts can be both inevitable and unlikely. #PlanetSci neofixer.arizona.edu/site/500/K24...

Drink this coffee before it gets too cold? Or drink this Mountain Dew before it gets too warm? Maybe mix them and chug.

Terrified terror

in case your company uses Google Workspace and is despairing at how Gemini A.I. is getting pushed into everything—fear not! Slate's indefatigable IT chief embarked on a successful journey to get it removed from our end and wrote a detailed guide for the curious: slate.com/technology/2...

Nature had the conditions to "cook up" the chemical precursor ingredients for life before Earth formed, according to studies published by the sample analysis team of NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, which is led by LPL's Regents Professor Dante Lauretta. news.arizona.edu/news/asteroi...

Sir our plan to replace the entire government with 4chan freaks has run into a few snags
