Nope. But I used to have 2 pups. I once watched the baby eat fast while the adult ate normal speed. The baby went sat next to the adult and the bowl. There was some wing back and forth. Then the adult dropped a big mouthful of food on the floor beside the baby, and they ate together.
Copying their human?😉
My mum said we had to leave a little for Mr. Manners!
She used, a very long time ago, in the 1930s, to be a cook in a rich doctor's house in London and it's meant to show you have been fed well and enough!👵😇
No, but my wife always leaves something on her plate. A single chip, 1 baked bean, a shred of lettuce, an inch of toast crust, a cornflake which means a trip to the bin before I can load the dishwasher. Drives me mental.
My old dog Dude could find any amount of unsecured food anywhere in the house and would instantly consume it, with the exception of bagels which he would store deep under my bed until i found them months later literally petrified
I had a cocker spaniel grrrL that would leave a literal half-circle of food on her dish, right down the middle. All my dogs except one have been free-feeders, and the one that isn’t always leaves a couple of kibbles. I always looked at is as doggie insurance..
Tali does this thing where she will grab one or two kibbles at a time and go eat them elsewhere, usually on a blanket. Like the bowl isn’t good enough.
I have a black lab. If there's a single kibble anywhere in the house, remotely accessible, then I'm probably planning a vet trip to find out why she's ill!
I had to get my dog a slow feeder bowl because she inhales her food like she never eats a thing 🙄 she still eats way too fast even with the slow feeder bowl. And will not leave a single kibble behind. She checks behind and around the bowl to make sure she got it all. What a pig
hah! mac is my first dog who is a grazer, he gets fed twice a day but it can sit there for a while! and in the summer, he usually only eats once after dark
i used to (and sometimes still do) eat certain finger foods down to where i was holding it at the end and then leave that tiny little bit behind. IDK WHY! friends used to point how weirdly i ate, lol. maybe your dog is like me. 😂
My cat regularly leaves a few kibble kernels in the plate. My theory: he feels more secure having a portion reserved for later. He also gets wet meat portions, like bits of boiled chicken breast.
He is a being made of adorable, which he uses to his full advantage every day to manipulate me. This is a problem I made for myself and I accept my fate.
Not when there’s three Italian greyhounds eating at the same time. Lol. The boys know Laci is going to be right behind them so they rarely leave even a smear of pumpkin.

I have never known a dog to be this polite about food, actually, but yours may be better behaved than mine 😅
more kibbles? 🤷🏻♂️
Huskies are notoriously picky eaters and it's not unheard of for them to skip meals, but mine did not get that memo
I think they want to make sure they have food in case I "never feeeeed them agaaaain". XD
for flavor maybe idk
then I have to escort him downstairs again later, when he's hungry & has forgotten there are leftovers
Sometimes my dog actually offers her chews up to me.
After I feed him, he has to search the floor around the food container to check in case I dropped any.
