Cable Guy. It's so underrated & misunderstood. It wasn't his typical comedy and it wasn't supposed to be. It had a psychological aspect of someone that was troubled & deeply lonely. The character tried their best to blend into society to be liked & appear "normal" but just couldn't get it right.
Liar Liar is a big comfort movie. It has Jennifer Tilly in it, for one, and Carrey's character realises he really wants to spend quality time with his son 🥹 (hashtag daddy issues right lol)
It is strange to admit, but he was my tween crush!
Comedy: Earth girls are easy, Mask, Cable Guy, Batman Forever
Serious: Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine
Ace Ventura Pet Detective. My young son was just starting to realize his abilities.
He could pick any part of that movie & act it out, word for word in character.
We watched the movie 100 times easily & when given the opportunity, I will watch it now. My son just turned 40, & has 2 sons of his own
10/10 making white people watch a whole film about a runaway slave where the slave wins his freedom (without a single murder) but does get away. So, high fantasy.

I thought Earth Girls are Easy should have, but I posted the polls, I didn't vote in them.
Absolutely hilarious.
And a fantastic soundtrack, I got it on cd.
Funny stuff and very quotable - one of my faves "Yeah well you think Polypeptide is a motherf'n toothpaster."
For me it's How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
