Did a really hard thing yesterday.
It’s been a little over four years since my son passed away.
Finally went through his clothes. That hurt like a son of a b.
But I’ve got enough shirts for a quilt thankfully. Will look forward to a little creative art therapy over the holidays as I make it.

I went through my Mum's clothes, I could still smell her, after four years it hit me all over again. My Stepfather hadn't gone through them, some went mouldy.
To use your son's shirts for a quilt, what a lovely, thoughtful idea.
I wish you peace.
The quilt is such a beautiful idea and a loving tribute to your Son
Sister of grief here too. ❤️🩹
He had Down Syndrome and was 23
One never gets over losing a child
I'm sorry for your loss.
art heals
creation builds
love polishes
It took me 6 years to go through my son’s belongings.
Good luck to you. And hugs 🤗, always hugs.
My mum kept one of my brother's sweaters and she wears it as a way of keeping him close to her. They were incredibly bonded. He died in 2002, 22 years ago.
It's a great thing, to make a quilt.
The creative process is also really therapeutic, isn't it? x
Glad your mum has the sweater to hold on to!
