ROTS is where it became clear Lucas was really trying to make a very serious epic tragedy, he did not remotely have the chops for it, but points for trying

revenge of the sith is very bad and *is also the best of the prequel films*

The sequel trilogy were very competently executed movies. The trilogy just had no superstructure, no idea of what it was about.
I'm sure they'd love to remake the OT too, but that would piss off so many people so badly. The prequels though, they might be able to get away with.
It was the only movie that seemed to have an answer to “where did the Jedi go wrong?”
The answer it came up with: The Force belongs to every living thing, not the private property of shaolin space monks
“F you. Yes, YOU will”
It's kind of good if you view it as a standalone non-Star Wars film but then all the Star Warring gets in the way.
Then: “Just kidding! The force is really just all about hereditary power transfer!”
Seriously, read the novelization. You'll weep for what the movie could have been. 😭😭😭
