I used to dream of working there. One of my fond early career memories was picking up a copy of Complexity, Entropy, and the Physics of Information at a cognitive science conference and reading it on the flight back.

SFI should drop their PhD requirement, as there are lots of postgraduate deep thinkers out there who understandably could not wade all the way through the PhD program at other institutions.

Note that SFI doesn't have a tenure system, but these faculty positions do come with five-year renewable contracts, so one can make a career here. These positions, unlike standard faculty positions, are paid 12 months-per-year.
