If this is about the school shooting, prayers do not work. positivity without fierce action does not work. Every time I hear the word prayer associated with a school shooting I want to vomit. I love and support you AOC, but we don't need prayers... we need action on a monumental level.
I get the sense this is about something more personal than that, and AOC is probably one of the last people who needs to be lectured about prayer without action.
I hope whatever it is that it goes well. I respect her deeply and know she's one of our best progressive voices. I hope she gets confirmed for the leadership role as well. I often have difficult discussions with people I love and respect. This is one of those times I felt it might be warranted.

I used to question prayer also, as some on this thread have written. By sending prayer we send our concern and care. Those who are praying are not doing wrong, it heightens the overall level of goodness in the world to be praying rather than sniping, complaining, or worse.
Pryer plus action is meaningful. Sniping and name calling does nothing good. It hurts people and sets them in an opposite direction of what you are asking for.
The moral clarity and passion of your leadership is something we desperately need more of and I for one am looking forward to your winning the vote to bring all of the above to your new position. You make us all proud—you got this.
