As far as I’m aware, there are no legal grounds upon which a defendant can object to a “victim statement,” no matter how absurd or blatantly false.

It goes beyond just needing to be overturned. A dead man, just by his very nature of being DEAD cannot have a victim impact statement. His loved ones, yes. Absolutely. BECAUSE THEY'RE ALIVE AND THEIR WORDS ARE THEIR OWN.

Plainly. I agree that the man should serve time. His peers found him guilty of killing a man, and for the dumbest of reasons, and if he gets the same sentence from a new judge, fine.
