Changing rooms helps me a lot- exercising and magnesium can help too. Some nights are just a write-off though. I hope it gets better for you! Insomnia is a hell of a time.
I’ve tried mostly over the counter stuff, from melatonin to NyQuil to general sleep aid. But it either gives me restless leg syndrome or I have a helluva headache the next morning (like I do now) 😓
Hmm. For me, the key was exercise during the day (body is tired), a solid routine for bedtime (reading, not too full, dark + quiet + cool), no screens (esp no social media) an hour before. Sometimes a bit of weed helps if I'm struggling/stressed, but that's not for everyone.
A change of scenery can help. If there’s another bedroom at your place you can try swapping for a few nights. Even the couch in a pinch can make a difference. Or if you can spare the coin, a hotel or motel room.
What fixed me was getting an iron-clad sleep schedule. I can't control when to fall asleep but I can control when to get up (sunrise alarm clock recommended). Afternoon naps 25 mins tops. No exceptions, not even on weekends. Life got a bit more boring but at least I was able to keep my dayjob. 🤷♀️
Naps are the devil for sure 😂 If I really need one, it's a very limited one, i.e. 25 minutes and after that it's getting up, no delays or discussions. My body got used to it, so I usually wake up on my own at around 20 mins before the alarm rings.

I've struggled with sleeplessness over the years but I don't know if what works for me works for others.
