The goslings at my local park have waddled off to greener pastures
(mostly the golf-only sides of the park, or out in the swamp somewhere.)
They don't have enough wing feathers to fly yet,
but they're getting enough to start looking like small geese.🪶
This post has 'broken containment' and attracted some peculiar comments. 🙃
And no: I wasn't chased away. I've never had an aggressive encounter with swans or geese, ever. Chiefly because I'm never trying to get in their faces. I think @nearbirdstudios.bsky.social and I talked about this here once.
I've never had an aggressive encounter with geese either. I believe they can read human body language like a book....they can tell if you're friend or foe just by looking at you and how u act around them.
Word, there is nothing more boring and stupid than pulling the most standard idiotic joke that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand other than "current times lolol". Stuff like this makes me sorta glad I'm not popular enough to get these. Truly ridiculous.
I saw some goslings today with their Canadian parents. I think they’re naturalized US geese babies by law though since they appear to have been born in LA
Picture perfect sure, but you can totally sense the animosity between the parents. She's totally giving the father a passive-aggressive look that says, "I know what you did with Deborah." Meanwhile, you can see the fear on his face because he knows that he's not ready to be a father. It's sad. 🤪

We have fuzzy babies running all over the river front here! 🥰
I took a ridiculous number of pictures of them. It was very hard to tear myself away.
Y'know, quite apart from being the wrong colour*, that's a wonderful family unit, Natee! 😊
(* Cygnus atratus for the win! 😄 )

We don’t have many swans in Hawaii but our beloved nene goose is a close relative of Canada geese.
Thank you for posting!
Many variations on 'they killed the photographer,' as well as weird ones like these examples.
I'm aware they're 'jokes.' Make better ones that maybe distinguishes you from a troll. 🙂🤗

You were so close to them, so clearly they have accepted you as one of their own, the seventh cygnet.
