It's also the day for my favorite meme!
If this aging Klingon warrior can get it right, so can anyone.

Absolute favorite character. The "I've been a husband AND a wife" scene 💕🥰
Heh.
Allamaraine, then three more,
Allamaraine, if you can see,
Allamaraine, you'll come with me…"
New Trek is horrifying in both messaging and visuals.
Some Star Trek producers have a hard time living up to the ideals of the series.
I guess humans don't keep their memory as well as Klingons in old age.
Rats.
Too late🫶🏻.
That universe was supposed to be a utopia for humans. Humans were supposed to be about diplomacy and anti-materialism, not a war-lust species.
Bell riots, the event that kicked off the Utopia that Trek was about. Interestingly, made in the '90s and was very prescient about what 2024 was actually going to be like!). The rest of the show takes place in 2369-75

(My favorite episode in the series is Far Beyond the Stars.)
New face, new name, still Dax, but a new phase in life.

*These three Klingons (and the actors who reprised the roles) first appeared on The Original Series.
I love the old Star Trek, when it was truly STAR TREK!
Really!? Hmm!
It really would have been nice to have Seth handle the franchise. *sigh*
I do love The Expanse though! That's right up there next to Babylon 5, Star Trek and Stargate.
But, the Star Trek continuity stickler feels compelled to point out that Korr was Shit Faced at the time
Trekkers did Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations long before anyone else tried to market it.
Season 4 is particularly strong. My favorite Trek episode is "The Visitor".
Klingons

You have a good friend

I love this scene so much.
I wish more parents were open to trying things like this, instead of projecting their own ideas about who their children should grow up into.
Let me just say, when I saw Season 3 Episodes 11 and 12 (Past Tense)...man, did those feel relevant.
"Bonifacia?"
"I go by Jim these days."
"Well, come in Jim, we'll have cake."

(I think calling them an allegory for Palestine is actually very optimistic and I hope you're right.)
i guess i’d like the positive results without the devastation first, please.

Right now misgendering is a sore spot because it's used as a weapon, but in a more supportive environment your previous name and gender could just be seen as a former state. It no longer describes you, but it's not dead to you.
