Mushrooms are expert level foraging. The stakes range from shitting your guts out to an extremely painful death.
You need to commit to a lot of learning, and patience.

Lawngreens (dandelion, sorrel), berries, yes.
I then compare that to the probability of me misidentifying it and dying an extremely painful death from multiple organ failure.
Then I buy the white button and stem mushrooms at the grocery store.
If they gain sapience, I hope to reason with them that our actions gave them the population size needed for such rare mutations to happen.
Garlic mustard is pretty easy to ID, and my local parks and nature centers all have posted signs showing how to ID it and asking people to pull it out.
Morels are also the only mushrooms I like, so...
And then DAD ate most of my prize! 🤨
