Tesla are losing UK market share of EVs, but not as fast. They are at 19% as opposed to 22% last year. The VW group have a bigger share (their new UD 1 concept is fire).

Some claim this is due to the delay caused by ordering the car and only now getting it. The worst thing is, although the share is down sales are up as, in the UK, we've hit 26% of all new cars sales being pure electric (which is good news). Petrol cars are at 29% and falling.

The best outcome is zero car sales.

EVs also destroy our ecosystem, just at a much slower pace. But EVs are still destructive.

We need more rail infrastructure - we need to increase the amount of rail travel (local, regional, and long distance) at a factor of 5 to 10 as soon as possible.

I agree less cars are good. We need new ways to get people around, including the older generation who see pedestrianisation as blocking their travel.

But EVs can have 1/4 the impact of a petrol car, or less.

Zoning laws are the biggest hurdle to public transport, especially in the US.

Some cities in Europe and North America are investing in hydrogen fuel cell buses, which emit only water vapor as a byproduct.
Trams and light rail systems often utilize electricity sourced from renewable energy.

Fewer cars would be good. But these pedestrianisation schemes will concentrate the traffic into other streets, often residential ones. The main aim of the Oxford Street pedestrianisation scheme seems to be all-night alcohol venues of one kind or another. Residents will get the noise & air pollution.

The salute could be interprated in different ways but in combination with advocating for AfD there can be no question on where Musk is politically. No decent person would buy a Tesla today. The brand is toast. (I loved these cars but it is what it is).
