How it started... How it's going

🔥 Finally!! Starmer ready to offer Youth Mobility Scheme. 🙌🙌🙌

Gotta love our Cannuck cousins!

Brits say it’s more important to support Ukraine than to maintain good relations with the US, according to a new YouGov poll. And following a familiar theme, there are those Reform supporters once again showing they’re nothing like other Brits.

Strangely enough the Telegraph looks less ridiculous with Sunday Sport stories.

I don't often agree 100% with Sir Richard but he's bang on the nail here. #SlavaUkraini

I think you're allowed to stick a red-hot poker up his arse now. I think that's how it works.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social has just read out my Uncle Monty quote and factoid. That's another one off the bucket list...

My main bike is in the shop having a couple of jobs done on it so went out on the spare yesterday (Giant Rapid 0). It's a great bike, but short, stiff aluminium frame and narrow tyres with Conti Gatorskins does not give the magic carpet ride I'm used to on the Ribble CGR Ti! Still great fun though.

Had a fairly crap day at work, but all fixed by a couple of bike rides interspersed with an hour of yoga.

Fantastic stunt from these Sheffield parents, once again highlighting the dangers in walking to school. “Two thirds of parents had seen a near miss on the way to school”. School is a legal obligation- families shouldn’t have to risk their lives every day to get there. bit.ly/4jLfC7E

I'm about to go to the cinema for the first time since, iirc, 2007 (hasn't been much point since my eye issues in 2014), but the chance to see the documentary We Are Fugazi From Washington DC at the Mockingbird Cinema is too good to resist.

Today's weather is cold, drizzly and grey so I brightened things up by (badly) drawing an ocean sunfish. As you do.

True dat.

I had a liver checkup yesterday. Subject to a routine CT scan in a few months I've effectively cured myself (I'd been on course for serious damage, possibly transplant). I guess the hard work (I've shed about 20kg/45lbs since October 2022) is paying off. NGL I'm pretty chuffed.

Sometimes you just have to say “fuck you” with a flourish

The frustration of climate scientists expressed wonderfully.

Cycling with a hijab is a powerful symbol of freedom, resilience, and empowerment. On World Hijab Day, women around the world break stereotypes by embracing both their faith and their love for sports. My hijab, my bike, and my smile are all part of who I am.

Of course DEI consistently increases competence because hiring cant just be based on liking the cut of peoples jibs

Once you've seen noticed the "Gormless Gap" you see it everywhere Pedestrian space stolen so that careless motorists don't scratch their cars What unintended consequences might emerge from building a world where people are systematically protected from any consequences when they drive carelessly?

A good reminder that cycle lanes and footpaths don't appear congested as they (mostly) allow people to move through quickly and efficiently. Video taken from charlemont luas stop on a rainy morning.

On drugs. Drugs also on him and in vehicle. Uninsured. No licence. Drove over the victim, not once, but several times. How in the f*ck is this only death by careless driving? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Why do we need to allow drivers 'time to adjust'? Why must we always tip toe carefully when introducing any law that might, just might help anyone who isn't driving a car? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

In the not too distant future, cities traffic will be mainly made up of journalists attempting to drive SUVs through cities for clickbait headlines. We need to talk about journalism and the transition to efficient urban transportation.
