As I keep saying we need to make @bsky.app the biggest social media platform on the planet, we need to do it with urgency & we need to send Elon Musk and Nigel Farage packing

Starmer needs to urgently understand the threat here and I don't mean just to Labour. What has happened in the USA will happen here if Musk is allowed to infiltrate our politics.
I tried to leave Twitter (refusing to use the stupid new name). I can't because I don't remember my password .... maybe that's the case for others too?
Labour aren't contributing. Still zero government presence on Bluesky - as if they are afraid of triggering Musk, when he is already hellbent on destroying them (and us).
Watching 'World At War' documentary for the 5th time at the moment. We must never allow fascism to get a foothold in the UK or anywhere else on the planet for that matter. Farage, tRump, Musk & their ilk may appear dumb as fk, but they are extremely dangerous.
what puzzles me is that Reform is not a political party it is a limited company with Farage at the head. Tice is being eased out by Farage as he flirts with his billionaire donors
The Labour government could always introduce bills that prevent foreign interference and limiting cash influence in elections.
Additionally, the government could always pull its finger out and actually fix some of the UKs broken public services - we absolutely *can* afford to do this as a nation.
Musk can Fund reform candidates in bye elections as soon as they start happening. Reform came second to Labour in many constituencies. If he can buy Reform seats like he bought the Presidency it will create that winning narrative for Farage. 4 years will be too late.
No he's not, he's just bankrolling the operation and taking all the limelight, he's not stable enough to stay the course, that's why he flits from business to business. Look at the people in the shadows, they're the real threat, they're the ones who will step in after Musk trashes the place.
Last thing I saw him bring up was leaving ECHR to be able to deport people. I looked up how many deportations it had stopped - Rule 39 orders paused 15 in the last 7 years. Fifteen. That's it. If what I found is correct, you just have to point out he appears to be pissing his pants over peanuts.
There will be 25m on BlueSky in just a few hours.
I will be closing my Twitter account as the sun sets on 2024.
I will miss some of those I leave behind, but it is for the best.
I have two real experiences of Farage. 1 we both pulled over in a lane to let a woman on a spooked horse pass by. Gallant eh? And 2 he was at Orpington station trying to buy a train ticket or top up his oyster, clearly struggling with the technology (ie cursing). He can’t cope with simple things.
There is a REAL DANGER in making Social Media the arena where we fight the Right. They have many like Musk who are prepared to pay thousands of Trolls from the ALt and Extreme Right to battle mercilessly against anyone opposing them.
Fight them in the ballot boxes, in Council Chambers & Parliament
A lesson on how progressives can take back control
Reaction from the disruptors, & far right has been telling because they know something we don’t admit: we, the progressives, feed them, & that is where the opportunity lies
In the early days of Twitter I would usually get dozens of views and one tweet got 20,000. By this year, my tweets were only getting single figures, and no responses.
With BlueSky I often get a thoughtful response, often from eminent people in their field of expertise.

Deleting tweets isn't particularly necessary, and deleting your account frees it up for imposters.

So all the talk of Musk, Farage and millions in donations is way too premature....
Which begs the question: why now?

It's exciting.
