Compare that with 'Reeves told an event hosted by the Wall Street Journal: "We have been listening to the concerns that have been raised by the non-dom community."'
Why are we paying interest to ourselves? It's like a state owned school or hospital paying VAT.. WHY????
So Labour have pushed thousands of #disabled voters away for better press headlines...
Quite a few working lawyers and doctors there.
But it has to be more than an easy slogan.
How does one country do it when wealth is international and easily moved, even if the individual stays in the UK?
Tax the rich, sure, but if that tax is easily avoidable it’s never more than a slogan.
If governments are to tax the rich they have to tax capital wealth, not just income.
That’s problematic because wealth can be hidden in offshore companies & trusts with impenetrable ownership structures.
The rich know how to exploit tax laws in different jurisdictions.
Oppression is a profession.
It’s going to be abolished, not replaced - the Dept of Health will return to managing the NHS, as before.

Likely beneficiaries. To be clear I don’t imagine Reform, Brexit or whatever it’s called these days will benefit. Why? because they would make everything worse for the everyone.
The tory vote collapsed and was split, labours vote also dropped.. they won by default in many places.
3500 job losses announced today WH Smiths.
It's like the Thatcher years all over again 2000 jobs lost here, and here, and here.. but good news.. 6 jobs at a new 24 hour garage in Oxford.
A land tax is a better way of doing it. Slap it on 2nd homes or land that's undeveloped.
A different bias had a good video on the subject.
He has a great take on UK politics if you are interested. Very insightful.
No matter what, we need to close tax evasion loopholes
They want to shift everything offshore, tax heavily when it's leaving.
Tax the unrealised profits such as using shares as collateral without ever paying tax on them.
Closing those loopholes would be excellent (and has been started, i believe), but it takes time.
I'm no expert. I can only say what I have learnt so far.
I fear for her career.
Well done Nina!
Don't be like America!
They know what they're doing and will continue to squeeze workers in favour of wealth accumulation.
The time has come for fighting and pushing back.
You are right if Starmer stays they’re unlikely to survive longer than one term.
Starmer doesn’t have this luxury in our Information Age.
Which makes his cowardice even more worrying.
He needs more Attlee and less Blair.
It can absolutely be done, and should be done.
Taking some of it back doesn't seem to be the worst thing to do 🤷
He's a charlatan and a traitor.
He's intensely disliked, from the bottom to the top.
E.G. Wages, in country purchases (though maybe not land), services
Are you well?
they're corrupt.
they work for the rich.
She is correct: Tax the rich, make sure corporations pay their fair share of tax and put a windfall tax on energy company profits.
From an American watching America get HiJacked
Tax the fucking rich ffs.
Without our taxes to support their needs they will collapse
We would struggle to track all of their hidden money.
However they can’t hide their property, and we can ban their private jets.
They can be made to pay attention to the fact they will never be safe until they become good citizens, who contribute to society.
How much is MPs pay rise again?
This was all public knowledge before, during and after the election and we warned everyone their decisions will be compromised and yet you asked us to vote them

They just decided that the working classes have far too much, that the wealthy elites should be kings.
Wringing hands that rich individuals or corporations avoid or evade tax is the issue. New wealth taxes will fail, they always do.
Action needed to close loopholes & simplify, otherwise we will continue to have unfair tax that especially burdens domestic SME business.
