question from a non lawyer: what’s the benefit of using signal for this? people keep saying it’s so you don’t create a record, but it seems like the kind of record you could keep quiet legitimately for a long time. not my area of expertise though

as another non-expert: you can keep it quiet from the *public* via legitimate channels, but probably not from the next administration. so like if you are literally committing crimes in office or something, you're better off trying to improvise your own security protocols instead
