kinda pissed this is the first I'm hearing about this. so much focus on a dead CEO when KINDERGARTENERS were shot

Comments

They can’t risk their right to have an automatic rifle taken away. I believe they call them collateral damage.
Poor babies. I hope them a speedy recovery. I pulled my kids out of in person school years ago. It’s just sickening.
We live in a world that conflates wealth with worth, and this is proof
Dude. Nothing makes sense anymore.. the article says the suspected motive is because it's a seventh day Adventist affiliated school.... SO HE TARGETED THE 5&6YR OLDS?!?!

i have religious trauma too like so many else.... My god WTF is wrong with this fucking dude!!!!
Two babies shot in their school and it’s barely a blip.
Chicago 8 people shot mass shooting
Why do they always target children???? Children have nothing to do with your shit life, I don't get it. The CEO on the other hand, I totally get.
This. All day every day. 🤬
F'ed up priorities. 🥺😢
Well, kindergarteners yield very little shareholder value, so...
It nearly got zero coverage. Most school shootings don’t now. Too common😞
I feel terrible for those kids. Drove by that school in October - the land was bracketed by ranches displaying 🍊💩 campaign signs.
OTOH, 65% of the voters in that county voted for the 🍊💩. Folks get what they vote for - including shootings by a felon with a ghost gun who needed social services.
Those kids never stood a chance.
It barely got national coverage.
Oh no 😔
Kindergartners. KINDER. 😩
those poor babies 😭
It's obscene.
At least they’re reporting on it here in northern CA but it’s still not a huge story
The media has nothing to gain by reporting and stressing the importance to the dangers of our kids. They're all collateral damage, sadly. 😢
Thank you for saying what I was thinking
Sadly, we established long ago at Sandy Hook that the lives of children do not matter. But a CEO is a *real* person we must protect at all costs!!!
I'm just waiting for our mass exodus. I'm unable to convince my family myself.
You know the first rule in such situations? Save yourself, so you are in a position to help others.
How about when you're married and your wife isn't interested in moving because her parents aren't?
That sounds like a hostage situation. :(
I would consider a hostage to be physically bound, but I get your point. Ultimately, we're all acting based on priorities (or perceived priorities). The suffering isn't great enough, so neither is the desperation.
No, hostage could be somebody who CAN NOT leave, because of the consequences that are going to be negative. "Losing my family" could be that too. Sadly, if it gets severe enough, it will be too late. It's a hard situation. I know what my decision would be but there is no singular solution.
4,752 children died from gun-related injuries in 2021

4,368 in 2020

Sorry to interrupt, you were saying?

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/number-us-children-killed-by-guns-hit-record-high-2021-study-2023-08-22/
She was saying "it is getting a lot less attention than it should". And now you are saying that it is even WORSE, you shared a link to Reuters, a British company. Illustrating that the attention in the US is somehow smaller than the attention to it outside of the US.
I'm pissed too, but I think it's been clear for a very very long time that the media and those with power value the wealthy over children that die from gun violence.
Wild that I only just now heard about this also.
I wonder what would happen if CEOs start getting mowed down like school children? Will they start to care then?
Apparently so far they are just hiding the names of the leadership from their websites. That's it. That's all.
The NYTimes home page this morning had ceo manhunt as the top story, this was waaaaaay down at the bottom. Devastating news.
Yeah - pro-life is only for fetuses or CEOs. Everyone in between just gets thoughts and prayers. 🤷‍♀️
😔💔😢
Every American is given the inalienable right to go on one (1) shooting rampage at any school of their choice.
😢
Children shot in schools is expected now.

We've moved on from age of victims to the total death count for what makes it newsworthy, and that number is pretty high now.

2 children in critical condition is page 8.

This is who we are.
Kids are shot every day. A CEO is a rare event. I seriously wish I was joking.
