Leave it as is. The background adds so much to the photo, and you can still see all the features of the penguin. What an amazing shot!

I really like the negative space and the depth of field in the foreground. It draws my eyes around the photo in a much more interesting way than the cropped version. The penguin is great but it’s dynamism of the environment around the subject that brings the photo to life.

They’re both great… You can see the orange glow on the penguin best in the cropped photo. Having said that, I do prefer the uncropped version which shows the magnificence of his location.

I love both, but the wider one gives context while the tighter one gives detail… exhibit both? At different times to different audiences with different interests?
