everyone starts with a .bsky.social (unless they host their own PDS); just go to the settings where you change your username, and it'll give you instructions
You might have better luck getting a national domain, those tend to be more reasonable. Maybe try https://www.vnnic.vn/ for a .vn if that works for you.
There's some that are extremely cheap, like $4 a year, and there's the more popular tlds like .com and .net that tend to go for either $12 dollars or literally like a trillion lol. If you also want to host a website, Cloudflare is an incredible value. I got mine for $10
I'd like to get one but I am lazy and a bit clueless (quickly ignoring the fact that I don't have money in my account and the fact that I'm unemployed)
I would disagree. First off, every user on blue sky is a "website", hence why it defaults to a bsky-social domain. So if you want to hook up your own domain, which isnt purchased through blue sky, you have the option to.

just wait till .blue finds this
*checks schedule* which could years to come
*checks pocket* also yeah that too
yarn add --dev @lingui/cli
make build-web
cd bsky-web
make build
./bskyweb serve
and done
I will admit, it's easier than self-hosting a website.
no, i only did the things i wrote up there and it worked lol
thats what it said on a couple websitesπ
(that's not me, i have a life)
id suggest playing around with https://porkbun.com/ or some other cheap domain name registrar if you're interested
eg my registrar (https://reg.ru) sells .ru domains for like 2 dollars/year
(leftover from a personal project, still paying for it and using it for stuff, but it's also not wearing the name i'd use as handle)
