Off topic, I'm sorry. I'm curious if it's a forgone conclusion that character issues will keep Umanmielen out of the 1st round? Or, can he work himself back in the conversation in Indy?
He's good no doubt...But the run fits are immaculate on so much of what you watch of him. Like there's very little seeing him make a man miss or need to create when things don't go as planned. Genuinely, I would like someone to help me understand fascination?
He's a tough one for me. Elite vision and good burst when there's a hole. Better athlete than people think. Give him blocking and he'll produce
But the one full game I watched was vs UCLA and he did nothing (18/49, no rec). Didn't look like he could create his own yards when the DL clogs the middle
To be fair, Iowa was on their 5th string QB that week who had been playing scout linebacker a week before. The defense knew there was zero chance they were throwing the ball and just sat on the run game.
As someone who (unfortunately) watches every Iowa game, I can say that it’s 95% an indictment on the scheme. Check out his game winning reception against Iowa, I think that really shows the whole package.
Although I do agree, he will need to find ways to make the first guy miss at the next level.

A lack of lateral creativity or that top, top gear just spook me. He uses blocks EXTREMELY well though.

You'd think with no QB and nowhere to run, they'd want to find ways to get him the ball on screens, etc. But he had zero targets that game.
But maybe that's an Iowa problem in general

Definitely planning on watching more of him though, my main dynasty team desperately needs RBs and I've got 4 top 15 picks lol
