Most of my closest friends (and I) were horribly bullied at school. Weirdly we have not gone on to become bullies as we age. Your behaviour is a moral choice, and you can make it kindly.

i'm so tired of the "bullied nerds" narrative that exists only to garner sympathy for young men being assholes. i had somebody tell me the DOGE teen criminals currently ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of our government were probably bullied at school and i wanted to spit in their face

The vast majority of the people I know who were bullied are incredibly kind, compassionate adults.
And honestly the "trauma makes you do evil things" narrative is so so so so offensive to the survivors who try every day to show the world more kindness than was shown to us.
Less than 10% of children who were bullied grow up to be bullies, according to the NIH.
The rest of us do our best not to treat others the way we were treated; we understand the pain.
