NEW: GOP state lawmakers in Florida and Texas introduced identical bills that would ban 'weather modification activities,' based on claims made by fringe conspiracy theorists about 'chemtrails.'

As a Floridian, this pisses me off. Things in Florida are atrocious. Not that Democratic leadership cares. But the fact that these people are spending time and our money on this is infuriating. This state sucks, anyone who lives here will tell you that. Corruption is so obvious.
I guess there will no longer be flights (including NASA and SpaceX) in or out of those godforsaken states moving forward. Way to go, killing the best things about those states, RepugnantCons!!
So, if this goes into effect, and nothing changes, will Maga finally be convinced that they were never "weather modification activities" to begin with...? (LOL, I know, but I had to ask. 😉)
Just a glimpse into the lives of Texans every legislative cycle. A centuries year old joke in Texas... The lege meets for 140 days every 2 years, but it should be for 2 days every 140 years.
There's a reason that joke has been around since the 1800s.
Just think about the caliber of lawmaker it takes to either fall for a 60 year old, easily debunked conspiracy theories, or feel like it’s good for their prospects to appease conspiracy theorists who can’t be bothered to remember 6th grade science…
Isn't that silly? ... Everybody knows that weather modification isn't caused by "chemtrails." It's caused by magical creatures from outside of space and time. I'm sure Doctor Who will explain it all to them the next time he drops by in his Tardis.
This seems ridiculous, but, seriously, how could anyone reasonably establish the purpose of the emission? Couldn't a person just sue for any climate-impacting emission into the atmosphere?
Tennessee did the same earlier this year, in which the sponsors got an earful from me. I think part of my diatribe included the suggestion of investing more in public secular education.
Nope! Because the law is written so that it only counts if weather modification is its primary purpose! It’s almost like they know climate change is real.
This is all to support their narratives of misinformation -including the recent hurricanes off of FL saying were intentionally manipulated (blaming Dems saying they're targeting Red states-LUDICROUS cuz A) u can't control/create hurricanes at that level & B) Ashville is more blue & got hit the worst
And when someone proves to them that 'chemtrails' never existed in the first place, GOP lawmakers will take credit for abolishing chemtrail activities during the next campaign...
I swear we're living in the backstory of a Soulslike. "The authorities of this land devolved into madness, banned all travel based on a mass delusion, put the downtrodden commoners to death, and sacrificed themselves to their emperor"
DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE (DHMO) IS A MAJOR COMPONENT OF CHEMTRAILS YET THE GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO BAN IT!!!! WAKE UP, SHEEPLE!!!! IN ALL CAPS LOCK!!!! https://dhmo.org/facts.html
I demand a bill that would establish a hunting program to eliminate sasquatches responsible for the deaths of many in rural areas.
I would also remind those in rural areas that no matter how close the creature's DNA is, engaging in a romantic relationship with them is still illegal.
I know someone who is convinced chemtrails are real- smh, bless her heart.
And another friend who actually said, “There are no conspiracies, darlin”
Omg- I’m surrounded🤣😢😢
This is not just silly, this is bad. Banning something that doesn't exist seem on paper to be a useless law, but those trails in the sky DO exist, they just aren't chem trails. But they can't be NOT done, which is a problem. It's just physics

See? They DO know how to get things done...
They're unstoppable.
If I were on that jury, I'd vote to convict.

Damn Deep State Weather Patterns!
End/sarcasm
It's covered in the MAGA book "Me Do Politics Good". Which is really a pamphlet. Written in crayons.
Potentially the most significant piece of climate change legislation we've ever seen!
I lived at the beach directly under the flight path for the San Diego airport. There was a black goo covering my car many mornings.
And I can't wait 'til they discover what automobile emissions do.
Maybe there's something to this...
