You do have a point. I feel any bandit or assassin would never shoot a bow upside down. It just doesn't makes sense if you're in the tree then just be upright.

Being upright on a tree branch will often mean your shot is blocked by other branches. This is especially true if you selected that tree for concealment.

I'd expect compensating for gravity affecting the path of the arrow to require a small thought process running over aiming---the brain is probably very conditioned to allow for drop assuming archer's head is on top, and if head is down, then archer must angle counter-intuitively toward their feet.
