Was just reflecting on the best books Iβve read in 2024. Last years booker prize winner Prophet Song is top. Although I also loved Julia by Sandra Newman. Year of dystopia!
The Princess and the Prophet by Jacob S. Dorman. It's about Noble Drew Ali, the founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America. It is a fascinating read.
I loved Circe. Gave it to an artist friend who after reading it created prints of Circe in tree-form holding/ protecting a fox as the dogs below looked about in confusion.
I just finished Trainspotting. A reread after many years. Still incredible and packs a punch. Going to write up a psychological character study of Renton soon.
Probably way more books at once than I should be, but George Steinerβs After Babel, Stephen Kingβs Pet Sematary, and C.J. Leedeβs Maeve Fly are three that Iβm really focused on right now.

Amazing read, easy to get into which is what I needed at the moment.
