I'll stare forever Joe Biden pulled low/lower middle income earners to new heights, but the top percentiles saw not much and never stopped bitching about it

(Was the only city in Waukesha County Harris won)
had a guy working on our kitchen counters that is certainly part of the GenX non-white / non college who still got his news from Murdoch et al
Inflation was real and it didn't take propaganda for people to see that everything was going up in price, dramatically.
IMO, it was his almost anti-charisma as president that caused these trends. College grads could accept it and hold the line, but others were skeptical.

The older members of the junior team largely went for Harris
The OP chart above was also from a previous version that had an error in the top decile calc, which at 4.4% (not 0.9%) still did better than the historical average.
Remember, the political operatives in Miami are ruthless. These folks had ‘temporary protected status’ from Biden & bought into how Trump would be better.
High interest rates drastically increased their monthly minimum payments.
So, despite Biden’s policies raising their incomes, they may well have felt materially worse off in 2024 vs 2022.
There's no other way to put this other than- Dems need to figure out how to appeal to low info voters.
And my empathy comes from knowing that I'll be fine, while people with low-income and government assistance will get fucked by Musk and co.
Then log the hell off; you can do nothing but harm here.
If you cared about the bottom 10% you'd be celebrating that their material conditions were improved and wanting to continue that positive trend. Income inequality actually decreased! Instead of virtue signaling online.
People like that are my friends, neighbors, and family. They don't trust Democrats because they think we're people like you.
