Was talking with a fellow ex-pat yesterday about how odd Britain feels after years elsewhere. We settled on “like visiting a BritainWorld theme park where everything’s slightly the wrong shape”, and “like a comforting hug, but slightly sticky”.
a key part of the modern rail experience is getting used to using the "delay repay" scheme to claim money back! I've often ended up doing that while *on* the actual goddam train, it's been that delayed 😢
Flew back home. Landed. Trains were cancelled. Had to get a taxi to a different city. Still quicker than jfk. Voyager enjoys better transit times than jfk. still
