Also the corporate/stock structure where Zuckerberg has majority votes (despite not owning a majority of shares) allows him to run the company to his own whims with literally zero oversight or consequences for his decisions.

2-6. Posts from groups I'm not in and have no interest in joining.
7. A horizontal selection of Reels from accounts I don't follow.
8. A friend update from 19 hours ago.
9-10. See 3-6.

Just scrolled through the first 100 posts in my feed. Of those 100, only three--three!--were actual status updates from friends. The rest were either groups, pages, or shared/reposted content. Repeated on the app with the same result.

If you have it "to keep in touch with people," it sucks!

If I had anyone come to me with this setup the first thing I’d do is ask them what they’d do if their page was suddenly deleted with no explanation. Depending on a platform you don’t own is a huge gamble.

I honestly liked MySpace better than Facebook, at least until be became too ad-cluttered itself to use. What puzzles me is why folks haven't abandoned Facebook the way they did MySpace or Geocities or whatever else. Why does it have this thrall nowhere else did?

They've "bait and switched" billions of people into slaves of habit, addicted to emotional rollercoaster rides, in the service of ads.

To me THAT is a bigger story - one that nobody wants to hear and would never see on FB anyway.

Because there's never really developed the equivalent of media criticism for websites and Apps you will occasionally get a write up of a new product but nobody is writing stories like they do about a movie studio having a series of expensive flops.
