No, of course not. Half the country voted for the chaos to come. They heard his absurd lies and ignored his rampant crimes and flagrant stupidity. They voted for it after the other team successfully extracted us from his last mess. There are not enough serious people in this country to fight back.
Outstanding article, will be shared with all in my family.
“The question before all of us as citizens is whether we realize that this moment is the test that will define not only how history views us and but how our children and grandchildren do.”
Many of the younger generations, IMO, have not developed what I call struggle muscles, in comparison to our parents and grandparents generations, so I have my doubts about us being up to facing the coming moment.
Excellent article, as always. Hard to believe what our parents and grandparents endured to give us the freedom to live our best lives, in the greatest country in the world. We owe it to them to fight for and preserve it.
I’ve just finished this piece, you are an incredible story teller, my heart hurts thinking of what your dad experienced then crossing the ocean and how he bravely went to find out the fate of family. I am grateful to feel called to action by your words to do what we can, what we must
I would argue that as a nation you had that chance in November and not enough of you cared enough to show up.
So at present I’d say that as a nation you’re not ready.
Terrifying we’ve been unable to instill the lessons of that era in our young people. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Who will come to our rescue?
Before he reached the age of 40, my late father lived under more forms of tyranny than I can imagine. He was the source of inspiration that got me through Trump’s first term.
Your substack is excellent. Your generation and mine are the children of the men and women who served in WWII to free the world of fascism. Unfortunately our children don't understand the sacrifices they made. It's a selfish privileged, self centered generation who have never had to make sacrifices.
No. We are not. I lived through the Cuban missile crisis. It terrifies me to think of something like that arising with trump, hegseth, gabbard at the helm. Vance maybe there?. Marco would be the adult in the room, maybe even almost qualified, but too cowardly to sway the others, so useless.

50% of the country voted for a rapist, inveterate liar, and thief who mocks our military and sides with our enemies.
Powerfully told. Beautifully written.
An important message to hold as we meet the moment...
