From Canada's perspective, the first Trump term was troubling, but the damage done in this term is deep, and will take at least a generation to repair. Look at it from a Canadian perspective - why would you take the risk of another Trump protege in the future?

I’m a Canadian weighing in. Americans will realize when they travel outside of their insulated US bubble how reviled the US/Trump government is. Unfortunately, the distrust, disappointment, outrage against Trump will run deep and US citizens will end up feeling the backlash.

PM Mark Carney is speaking for all Canadians. This yoyo ride of tariffs on/ off + the constant threats to our country and the constant name calling is off putting. 5,000 miles long? We’re better off building a pipeline to sell our oil to Europe. I don’t know where the US intends to replace 60% of its domestic supply. Now it comes from Alberta by pipeline to Texas refineries. 🇨🇦
