Reading Amy Jones's musings this morning - astonishing.

I know you have to present a confident exterior to the press, but saying their "best cricket is yet to come" is just opening yourself up for a retort along the lines of "a bit bloody late" and a savage response if they fail again. Madness.

My guess is that there are things said by the coach in the dressing room which players then feel they have to repeat word for word in pressers.

To be fair, if I had a pound for every sports player or coach who's trotted out the "there's positives to be taken from this" line - usually after an absolute drubbing - I'd be typing this from a beach house in the Caribbean.

One thing I dislike about white ball cricket in general but T20 in particular is that batting strokes either look brilliant or utterly dreadful. There is no subtlety about it.
That the format is heavily biased towards batters is a major gripe but more noticeable (to me) in the men's game.
