My sense from talking to organizers is less talks and more socializing events (hikes/parties) mixed with service work and being clear on what sort of values your community prioritizes. A lot of marginalized and younger folks are understandably skeptical of atheist spaces as overly heterodox obsessed

Socializing events are important because that's a keystone of community. But we also find out useful to have service events as well as activist/advocacy events.
