His economy advantage rests on the trope “he’s a successful businessman” which is itself a potemkin village based on fraud, self-promotion, and The Apprentice. When future historians write about this, people will be amazed that it worked.

makes me crazy too. i think Dems need to run PSAs nonstop, regardless of where we are in the cycle, online and on tv about this. It’s the kind of misperception that can be reversed but only by constant, years long effort. some speeches and ads during peak campaign seasons isn’t going to do it.
