The US military has spent its entire history inculcating the principle of civilian authority into its entire officer corps. I really wonder if they can even conceive a coup much less develop a concrete plan for seizure of executive power, no matter how far Trump goes off the rails.
I think you're right that this is were resistance from the government is most likely to come from. We'll see what happens when he starts ordering the military to do things it is absolutely not supposed to be doing.
