At least 46,000 people, including 18,000 children, have been killed in Gaza since 2023. A genocide isn’t really a war. 14,000 people have died in the Russo-Ukrainian war, which is horrible, but that doesn’t make Gaza less consequential. Israel and U.S. cooperation poses a violent global threat.

Oh, do calm down! NYT writers may not comport with your opinions, but they are just as valid. Gaza IS a nightmare but it doesn’t threaten world alliances. DEI is important, but dull and frankly, most people don’t give a fig for transgender issues because they basically aren’t impacted by them.

It’s dull to most Americans because it has no impact on them. It might not be dull to you, or to me, but the present case before the Supreme Court illustrates that it’s possibly more decisive than not. I don’t support Trump’s vile policy but outlining why I think it’s a lesser priority to the NYT.

Also, the scale from "less consequetial" to "more consequetial" does not have a natural zero value, so putting the axis line where they did is completely arbitrary. Which makes it feel even more pointed.
