I think the years of people saying and believing the internet “isn’t real life” have contributed to why people are so clueless about things happening outside their immediate observable vicinity. Because their primary way of finding out about it is online but they don’t navigate it like a reality

Comments read are not always real life. I found when speaking with people face to face, they are not as bold and so sure in person as online in the safety of their bedroom/basement.
The internet is as “real” as any other place people gather to discuss ideas.
Tbh it’s traumatizing. Like generationally. Like relationships with older ppl.
Checking a phone feed briefly and putting it away doesn’t feel like the same as sitting at a computer for a longer period of time
