Nathaniel: "Sorry human you are not allowed, I well go speak to the manager." "I need you to hold my necessities." "Be a sweet boy Timothy while I'll be back". "Toodles; now my sweet love" (its giving posh) [I don't know why I think like this either]
Cats in Bodega's actually are working animals. They keep the stores Rat and Mouse free. The fact that they are usually friendly and occasionally let you pet them is just a bonus.😊
No one owns A Cat.
A Cat might condescend to live with you, albeit on Their Own Terms & provided there is adequate food of tolerable quality & sufficient warm comfortable sleeping arrangements, but make no mistake, A Cat is not owned.
Sometimes companionable, often worshiped always their own Cat.
Cats can’t crush all the bones in a child’s hand like every dog can, even little dogs. Unless i smile, say something like “nice dog”, and ask to pet it; don’t bring your dog near my kids or i might kick it. I’m sure people will complain, but don’t take liberties with other peoples children.
Emotional support animals are not trained. Any animal can be emotional support, but service animals have been trained to behave properly in public and only focus on their task. The only legal protections ESAs have is in housing--the ADA only protects service animals in businesses.

We need more noncompliance towards DC.
Dogs: So what are we? Chopped liver?
The Cat/Owner: Shut yer piehole!
Visitor: “No.”
Cat: “Exactly.”
“Never owned one. Why would I want any in my store? Begone with you!!!!”

I take it, by implication, that a cat is not a pet.
Poor, poor, puddie cat.😢

Cute cat, but I would absolutely not give my business to any business that says an emotional support animal doesn't count.
