I thought Amy was their only child until a few years ago. I just thought they had infertility issues & couldn't conceive until they were older. Granted, I was just 4 when he was elected but somehow I remember thinking it was odd how much older they were with one child.
Most of us that work in mail plants know by now: only letter carriers have this day of remembrance. Mail plants ARE open that day. In our facility, people are given the choice: take the 9th off or take a floating admin day to be used by 09/30/25
Oddly, tho there are news stories about this closure, the USPS website has nothing. One article had a link to a press release page that doesn't currently exist.
I was just a kid in England, when he was President. His achievements cut through to me, repeatedly. Camp David in particular.

I did find it on the "National Postal Mail Handlers Union site." Saying no retail service and limited pkg delivery. Why would the USPS delete that on their pg?
certainly. i was misunderstood. asserting, even jokingly, that jimmy died with malice aforethought is magat thinking. stinking thinking. and to some, a diminishment of the nobel laureate and his legacy.
While I was delivering the mail yesterday a customer approached saying he was expecting a package on Thursday and he hopes to see it in his mailbox. I informed him that he’ll probably get it on Friday since we’re closed and won’t be working. He asked why so I told him. He cursed me. I drove away

I was 14 when I campaigned for him, not old enough to vote. I threw my support behind him, and went door-to-door in my small, Blue town. I'll miss him, but I'm grateful we had such a lovely human among us.

I think that Trump will order them up as soon as he takes power on January 20th. Unfortunately that's the kind of guy he is. He feels no compassion for anyone & will want to exert his power immediately. I may be wrong.

I’m slightly surprised at how saddened I am about his passing. I know it has something to do with the fact that we’re about to get the fat orange turd back in the White House in just a matter of days, but still. The last time I was so sad about any sort of “celebrity death” was when Prince passed.

i have a lot of respect for Carter and perhaps we need a national holiday at least in 2025, can anyone tell me why its just USPS and not federal offices as well?
