What do you expect? Voter ID WAS in the 2019 Johnson manifesto, and ist abolition was NOT in the 2024 Labour one

The apparent age/class bias in the implementation is a bit overstated - all that is needed is more forms of acceptable Photo ID being enabled...

Having introduced it it would be a bit daft to then scrap it with all the costs involved. The big issue is making it better though, having more forms of ID acceptable and equitable, so that young people have as much chance of having ID as others.
