Turns out 16 years of not writing any SQL does, in fact, not help with "quickly fixing a SQL query". I can see the problem! I know what needs to happen! I just have no idea which syntax elements can be combined in what order to achieve the results 🙈

I also had a long SQL break, was a DBA in late 90’s then switched to OS internals and performance for around 20 years, now back doing perf stuff in DB, gosh it’s slow
I can't write a JOIN that works. I sure can nest SELECTs though, that's good enough for most enterprise software we expect to be slow anyway, right? Eh? Guys?
BlueSky is not great at providing tech support, but if you actually want help, you're going to have to describe the problem in more detail (table definitions) and probably copy-paste the SQL that's not working.
Ahahaha, yaaay, that definitely makes me feel Not Alone, thank you. At least my past 7 days included two instances of debugging someone else's work and me finding the culprit relatively quickly! Fixing tho? Yeeeaaa no 🙈
