Have you ever had an ancestor “visit” you? Was chatting w friends this morning, and everyone had a story/experience that gave us goosebumps. I tend to intellectualize these experiences, but it felt real in my body.

Not quite. But when I told my dad I wanted to be a doula and subsequently explained to him what a doula was, he told me that his grandmother who raised him had been the community midwife. Def gave me chills.
No, and I tend to be more skeptical and intellectualize too, but I also on some level feel like I haven't had any experiences like this because I feel really disconnected from everyone I'm related to 😕
No, but I had the 18th century founder of a women’s college validate my transness a good decade before I myself figured it out, so… these things happen. A friend gets visited by a cat he once had.
And like, for those ten years I was a hardcore atheist, rationalist, much more than now. The reality of that moment scared the shit out of me but I couldn’t explain it away.
No, not in the sense I think you’re talking about. My mother used to talk about those kind of experiences.
But, I have had some profound transcendent moments when I felt the presence of “my people” like I was being witnessed by a group from the past. I find those hard to explain.
There is much more to reality than we currently understand. I personally don’t find a need to intellectualize all experiences. Especially the ones that defy rationality.

Now if they were giving me real-time non-public information on the global financial markets then that’ll be lit.
