It's the name the developers are using for all the different apps and tools that can integrate with Bluesky using the underlying @atproto.com technology.
#Decentralization is indeed the future; Bluesky and the #ATProtocol along with the birth of AT proto apps like Skylight, Spark, PinkSky, etc., is just the beginning of this revolution. ^_^
Correct. Pretty much 'any' AT Protocol app developed, present and future, is this; No more having to create your stuff on a centralized app ever again.

Video uploaded to Bluesky (and thus Skylight) ends up with horrible artifacts due to the low filesize limits that force them to use a really poor codec. Hopefully @bsky.app will address this limitation before they lose traffic and users.
Will your new service be available via the normal internet (i.e. not just an application on a telephone)? A lot of people prefer interacting with a larger screen, faster processor, better sound, etc. And I happen to be one of them. Thank you.

When I first built Omni, I did a half-baked integration, tried to run our own PDS but I believe there was limit for federated instance. Frankly I stopped working on Omni as I got busy irl but now seeing the influx of new apps, Skylight, Flashes. I'm motivated to begin a revamp with UI and more.

So as a creator, one is not locked into a specific app or network.
And users can freely pick the app of their choice to view and enjoy content
When we started Skylight we thought that the BlueSky team would be okay with it but we weren’t entirely sure haha
