I've noticed something interesting.
While a bunch of artists, VTubers, and other creatives have flooded Bluesky in the past few days: There's been a growing sentiment back on Twitter that "I can't get the engagement on Bluesky that I want!"
...Have you considered just being direct and genuine?

As someone with the worst social anxiety ever, I find it really easier to respond and talk to people and be genuinely happy to discover new peeps here!!
I am beyond happy to have migrated here. I do not regret it at all.
Guess I just fit in here more?
Wanting something to change and actually changing are two different things. Which is why I'm trying my bestest to go after what I want. It's still kinda scary ngl, but it's working so far!
Bluesky is much more akin to a public chatroom, just like old Twitter was. If you're not here to "talk" but just post whatever you do and never interact with others' posts, Bluesky won't work for you.
But twitter also felt that way so I don't blame bluesky, I'll keep using both
This place is so different from twitter and i dont think its hit some people yet
My perception of the situation is that they're trying the same engagement-first tactics when trying to market themselves, without seeing that things work a little differently here. That's a culture AND feed tech thing.
There is no algorithm by default unless you go outside of the main "following" feed. The "Discover" feed is what you might be looking for to see posts outside of your current orbit. 🙂
Custom feeds mean that you can filter down to just your posts easily.
Posting the way you want is totally okay! Being frustrated that you aren't getting the traction you want is okay!
I'm recommending problem-solving that instead of being upset.
You'll find your way, one way or another. 💙
I've seen so many people here just slowly work their way up and doing amazing now here! It takes time and patience, but not everyone wants to start again.
Nah let's all talk about why we like the game or how we feel on it.
Nice ice breakers!
My goal is to make this a genuine platform for me, while getting clients for edits and S O U P.
Its just hard when you are very shy! >.<
Turns out: Being part of the conversation is pretty fun! You'll be able to get through that wall. 🤗
I honestly love being able to grow by just being more genuine
I can't bring myself to make engagement bait posts
Yet here I’ve been able to engage and talk to people.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It won’t truly help drive some algorithim that will shove things into peoples feeds and hopefully the effect will wear off if people get tired of it.
And I think it's *because* I disliked engagement farming and want to just occasionally interact with people when I have the energy to.
And that doesn’t fly as well here, which is wonderful.
/sssssssssssss
The amount of engagement I got back was practically nil outside of a handful of good people.
That's @belleroseblooms.bsky.social if anyone was curious~
BUUUUUUUUUUUT. And I say BUT. If you talk to people and you make them smile you would see a difference. :)
Bluesky Is an Social Media for Interacting
Twitter is now for interactions.
I just use it Both according to their Uses.
A lot of the stuff that worked on twitter wasn't healthy/sustainable
That's why I post things that interest me. I'll always remain genuine. :3
social!
i love this place. 😁
As it should be imo
But I'm trying to follow and engage with people so I think that helps ^^
This space requires a very different kind of marketing.
And I'm happy that Musk kills Twitter (even if on the other hand, I love space and think it's the same man who tries to bring progress about space... that hurts..)
At least thanks to Twitter that I left in 2020, it's to trust no one.
As with everything you have a way better chance here if you can bring people over.
Became self loathing memelord instead

(Not saying this to encourage "curation"! Just for safety/awareness.)
Where reblogs are king on Tumblr, people joined with the notion of staying away from reblogs, and just liking everything instead.
Unfamiliar platforms will always have teething problems at first.
Might as well post to Flickr.
To clarify: I was commenting more on people stating flatly that "Bluesky just doesn't work for me", while seemingly not cross-interacting here.
I know starting over sucks, but you think they'd take the experience they gained from networking with their peers on Twitter and apply it here. Make connections.
Be a human on here. Generally speaking ppl are more likely to find u that way
Then they leave because the interaction is not the same while others thrive on it.
Now that bluesky is more active than ever, this is the time.
Im talking like, posts that don't interact with anything and just appear yk
