I have to say, this is an extremely disappointing response from @schiff.senate.gov. It evinces no understanding of the context for these confirmation battles or the importance of halting business as usual until the Musk coup has been put down.

This is very disappointing. I have sent the senator messages via his online comment form that ask the senator to stop acting as if this is a normal political moment. I will continue to let him (and his counterpart) know how I feel.
TBH, I've never received a truly germane reply from any of my elected officials, D or R, when shit hits the fan. Best one I got was from Lugar years ago after I informed him a firm in Indiana that made a specialized product critical to US defense was being bought by a Chinese firm.
This is the reply I have sent to @adamschiff.com @schiff.senate.gov:
(1/7) Myself and other constituents have received the same form response from Senator Schiff about our concerns about how he is handling the nomination process and his responsibilities
(3/7) Frankly, it misses the point and is an offensive waste of time. Senator Schiff has one of the safest seats in the country. He has significant political power that he should wield.
(4/7) The executive branch is currently ignoring the constitution: By fiat, they are disbanding legislatively created agencies and vetoing legislatively required spending.
(5/7) Allowing unanimous consent or normal business to continue in the senate is an abrogation of the power the senator has. It does not meet the moment. The democrats campaigned on the fact that a nazi was at risk of ascending to power.
(6/7) Now that has happened, the senator's constituents are demanding he use the power given to him by his constituents to stymie their abhorrent actions, and not find opportunities to be collegial with his buddies. Regular order in the senate cannot be allowed to continue.
Wow, of all people. So he was nothing but a mouth breather with the Jan 6 hearings. Spineless Dems when it matters most are exactly how we got to this point in losing our democracy. All talk, no action. @schiff.senate.gov
So instead of blocking all nominees and using that as a tool to get some movement from Republicans, he's going to let most of them pass and pretend to put up a fight on a couple of specific ones. Very much not meeting the moment.
Become a Senator and lose your edge. It's the culture of the chamber. 30 years ago, Chuck Schumer was one of the best representatives Brooklyn had in decades. I remember thinking that the day I moved from Boston to Brooklyn in 1995. I was like, "I just upgraded my congressperson!"
Heβs my senator. Iβve let him know that I donβt hold with business as usual with a party that is currently, right this moment, assisting Wrecking Ball Musk in destroying our government. No business as usual!
The letter above reads to me like pre-packaged response sent, by staff, to anybody contacting him about appointments. Unsatisfying, to be sure, but it reads as so general that I think maybe doesn't convey all current tactics/strategy. Just a thought, I obviously don't know for sure.
by his own (weak, unforgivable) logic thus makes no sense. he consented to rubio presumably bc schiff judged rubio qualified. gullible, at best, but whatever. yesterday rubio discussed extraterritorial imprisonment of u.s. citizens. he voted yes on duffy. today duffy proudly announced inviting

Fucking disgrace that this man is my senator.

The form response is wildly insufficient. It shows no understanding of the moment we're in, or the action that is being asked of him.
The lack of any sense of urgency is infuriating. I feel like screaming from a mountain while wringing a neck or twenty.

there's a pattern here! these people are (predictably!) not qualified! if only bc they are irredeemably loyal to trump!
if schiff stands behind his decisions on these nominees he's frankly unfit to serve californians & should resign.
