Folks like to try and argue it's not real until there's tanks, and yes, a blockade isn't an invasion. But it's still a giant and real harm, and its a harm that by his admission and in his own mind is designed to crush Canada and compel them to join the union.

Part of the reason it's happening too is because he is surrounded by people who say "lol, Canada is soft, this is smart and funny and might even work" instead of people who say "what the absolute fuck are you doing? I don't think these people get that a non-response is also a response. If the media is going to report he said it and no one responds it people will than assume it's fine that he's saying it they may think it's a bad idea at first, or that it's stupid, but they'll acclimate eventually
