An excellent question. Where are the Fortune 500 & Wall Street CEOs? Where are the university presidents? Where are the civil society leaders? Not just speaking out specifically in defense of their institutions & democracy, but also about 🇺🇸's global interests? The silence is deafening & shameful.

I think it’s all very “strange.” First, Corporate Media (with minimal contributor exceptions) veered sharply right. This happened around the time Biden stepped down for Harris. That’s when the “disorientation” began. Then after Trump’s election, all you could hear was crickets.

I began to notice that no one, including past presidents, cultural icons of the left like Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Ken Burns were missing in action from the public discourse. I was surprised about the absence of Hanks, Spielberg, and Burns because they were known for “patriotic” content.

Only a few brave Democratic souls from the House and Senate attempted to take on the Trump-Musk machine. But there has been no “collective outrage or meaningful pushback” except from these individuals, independent YouTube media, Bluesky, and, thankfully, some ethical Federal Judges.

If Trump announces he's going to hand Ukraine to Russia, cuts hundreds of thousands of federal workers, and cuts Medicare to fund a billionaire tax break in the next 3 months, that might be enough.
