Telehealth wasnβt cut by the Muskrats. Itβs running on an extension granted earlier by Congress. The MAGA Congress can vote for another extension. Put pressure on hem.
This was planned before Trump was elected. It was announced last year and in the Medicare and You 2025 book which is created and printed and sent out to Medicare recipients the year prior. They were already going to take this away (because it helps people, of course).
Why? Are telehealth services more costly than in-person visits? I doubt it. More likely, the 47 regime just wants to make it much harder for sick and disabled people to get medical attention. As always with them, the cruelty is the point.
Yep, that is literally true. Survival of the fittest.
The rich aren't the fittest of course, but they have the money and power to make us lowlifes support them. And they somehow convince non-rich to worship them.
We see it now for people defending Musk and his cronies.
THIS is so stupid. They aren't SAVING any money this way, ONLY making it harder for those who are TOO ill to see a doctor in person or for those who are immunocompromised and wish not to RISK their health be going into doctors' offices with those who can spread diseases. SMH
Yβall, call your congressperson! They extended this once, they could do it again, or better yet, make it permanent. It has been a godsend for many of us in rural areas.
I thought this might be a joke (because of the April 1st date), but I double-checked before sharing. This will, of course, affect the poor more than the middle class, the rural (look out farmers who supported tRump!) most of all, since medical resources are thin upon the ground everywhere.
So many disabled people and seniors will be forced to neglect much needed medical care. The Republican Party and trump do not care about you. SHOUT THIS OUT!!!!
Little By little theyβll dismantle
Medicare to avoid the tsunami of rage that will occur if they gut it all at once. My tsunami of rage is getting very close to the shore π
Medicare doesnβt cover medical transportation costs either. They wonβt help the disabled and seniors who often have physical and/or cognitive issues get to their appointments. Medicaid does, but they just voted to gut that, so I donβt know what will be available now
Oh great, so now some disabled elderly will have to find financial means and someone to drive them to travel 3 - 6 hours for an appointment because they live in Rural areas and VA assigned a doctor whoβs office is in another state.
This is going to have dire consequences. Remember UK folk that stupid Fascist Farage wants a for profits system of healthcare in the UK. It bankrupts huge numbers of Americans. We can afford to let Farage get into power.
This is sad. Telehealth is used by many who have difficulty in making in person visits plus for minor things, like a rash. It saved money while providing service. I've used it myself for visits where an assessment is not needed. What a loss.
This was an extension from 2024, until March 31, 2025, as much as I hate the orange fuck, has nothing to do with him. Please people, lets not start mass panics unless you have facts!
This is true. I'd love to blame it on the unholy alliance '25 but it was temporarily extended for further review. Perhaps the review was terminated due to the current admin. but it was slated to end without further approval.
Or the review would have led to an extension under Harris. So yeah, he gets the blame. We have been blamed for so much crap, he needs to get the blame for everything. We apply logic while they have made insane claims for nearly a decade. Enough.
Nah, because Harris wouldn't have axed it. She would have extended it. This issue isn't an expiring provision but the type of administration that wouldn't continue it!
This was part of the American Relief Act, because of COVID, it already had many extensions. So it was time for it to end. Had nothing to do with Harris even being president.
Exactly! We have BCBS and they advise us to use telehealth. I still use in-person, because I only go once or twice a year, but some people have to go once a month or more. Its bullshit! And how about if they have to travel? My doctor is 1.5 miles from my house, I could walk there.
"Medicare" "Advantage", private corporate insurance masquerading as Medicare, has already swallowed over half of Medicare funding. This was always the GOP plan for stealth privatization.
Swell. I'm a year away from social security and medicare. I don't NEED it, but it'd be great to have SS. I've been really counting on medicare, as that $25K a year for PPO insurance makes me wince.
This started last year.
Medicare Advantage began cutting back on telehealth services in mid-2024.
Wear a mask if you visit a healthcare facility.
Because people who are contagious will be there, rather than using telehealth.
Theyβre about to do the same thing to the VA. They want veterans like me who live over 40 miles away from the nearest VA to drive to the VA and sit face-to-face with the provider. Theyβve even reduced the amount of gasoline reimbursement for these trips.
I ran with this last night and got blood boiling furiousβ¦from what I know understand there are MANY possible exceptions to allow the continuation of these visits - each policy/pcp/provider etc etc may be differentβ¦itβs their fluffing word spin
It's missing an if sorry, imagine if for example your caregivers cannot have a teleheath for you and you need to travel hours to get meds as a not in touch with reality person experiencing psychosis...
Now they hate old people? Sick people who canβt leave the house? Doctors by overloading them with in-person visits? Who is this helping? How much can we possibly βsaveβ by this?
This will work out poorly for rural folks, who are also dealing with widespread hospital closures. And rural hospital closures will accelerate, especially in "red" states, as a result of Medicare cutbacks.
My last neurology appointment was by telehealth, because the neurologist was sick with stomach flu, and it was switch the in-person appointment to telehealth, or not have it.
There is a long wait time to get a neuro appointment.

They just want everyone to die bankrupt and alone.
Make old sick people leave home to see a doctor who could probably diagnose on video call.
They're just trying to kill old folks.
Telehealth was extended only until March 31 by the Republican Congress, not by the Trumpers.
If you want Telehealth, it has to be in the next Budget package.

I swear to God, they are actually trying to kill us in as many ways as possible.
says "in-person" is more efficient.
