I was a little kid when it came through the first time, and saw it through my brand new cheapo 80's telescope. Won't be here for the second, but I hope the kids enjoy it.
This is the one I wanted to live to see. I was so pissed when I found out I was 1 years old the last time it came. RUDE. I don't wanna Mark Twayne it >:U
I saw it last time; it did not live up to the hype even for my nerdy self. But I suspect, should I live to 2061 (I'll be 90), that I'll go out and give it another look.
I was 17 last time. One of the science teachers set up a telescope on the grass well away from the better-lit parts of campus. It was just a little blur, which was disappointing, but it was still An Historic Event (tm) and therefore cool. And one of these days, I’ll see a comet properly...

Crap, I feel old. :-)
That way, every 80 years we can chant "Halley cometh"!
