Very glad she is smart enough still to not fall into any traps. If my dad was still alive, I fear he may not have been so thoughtful.
Apropos of nothing, he also highly despised trump for being an obvious con-man back in the mid-90's as well.

She has been gift card scammed out of thousands of dollars and continues to talk to the thief thinking they are a wholesome person of faith. Truly maddening and deeply saddening.
That being said, I’ve had this talk with my relatives and some have sent money anyway. It’s a complicated problem.
These people spoke to their parents about scams around 2010.
If you are that old, like I'm getting, and can't spot one of these scams a mile off, you need to be talking to the kids about power of attorney and memory care.
I'm still going to ask my niblings to check on me because if I start getting more credulous it's definitely time for a neuro eval.
Only to watch them enthusiastically believe everything they read on the internet.
