Ah, it's the time of day where sunlight streams through my office window directly onto my keyboard, revealing how filled with crumbs and cat fur it is and what a filthy little goblin I actually am

There’s a window in my kitchen that illuminates all the spilled liquid tracks on the cabinet doors under our food prep area in the afternoon if the swinging door to the dining room isn’t propped open. I keep that door propped open
I just moved house. My old one was pretty poorly lit, but I thought I kept it fairly clean. When I moved to my new shiny bright place last month, I realized I am actually a complete pig and have been living in filth for years.
I turn mine upside down and bang on the bottom of it at least once a week. I can't even identify what it is that comes out of it. Some cat hair, but then lots of little crumbs and stuff.
I can sympathize. In addition to the crumbs and cat fur, one of my cats insists on walking across my keyboard with wet or muddy paws.
I bought an inexpensive keyboard cover skin. Every few days I can shake it out and even wipe it down with a damp cloth. The keyboard underneath remains pristine.
But that's not satisfying the edicts of laziness. Besides, if the crumbs are under the keyboard, you can see them. If you can't see them, it's clean. 😁
you should get 2 wireless keyboards, 1 for the sun and switch out when the shadow returns. OR you could just switch out the time you go into your 'office'?
I have keyboard brush to get rid of the crumbs and cat fur. My cat sit on the desk above the keyboard that sits on a keyboard tray. I do get the occasional tail across the keyboard that get fur in it.
I once used a 120 CFM air compressor with a blow off nozzle to get the crumbs out of my keyboard. Damn near blew every key off the pegs. Took an hour to get them back on. Put the X on, types a C. Shift left 1. Try next....
I can totally relate! A few months ago, I closed my laptop (I rarely do this), held it upside down, gave it some really good shakes, then opened the lid. The large amount of crumbs and cat hair now stuck to the screen was alarming!
I’m amazed mine still functions. The grease, too. The grease from trying to stuff enough crap in my belly while I’m writing so my body leave me alone long enough to finish this scene…
My vacuum cleaner has a light on the front of it, illuminating EVERY dog hair, crumb, piece of lint or dust. Sometimes you just have to remove the light source to make everything look better...

Then put the keyboard back down on top of the crumbs you just freed from its matrix.
That satisfies both cleanliness (kinda) and laziness (kinda).
It's disgusting.
wired: filth hour
Letting sunlight in like that.
